Weather in Bari
In October, Bari usually has mild Mediterranean weather, with pleasant daytime temperatures and cooler evenings, especially near the seafront. Average temperatures are typically around 13°C minimum, 18°C mean, and 23°C maximum, although warmer or cooler days may occur.
October can bring occasional rain, with an average monthly rainfall of about 50–70 mm, usually spread over several days rather than continuous heavy rain. Wind is generally light to moderate, but the perceived temperature can feel cooler in the evening or near the sea because of wind chill.
Participants are advised to bring layered clothing, a light wind jacket, and a small umbrella or raincoat. Checking the local weather forecast before departure and during the stay is recommended: Weather information.
Souvenirs
Bari and Puglia offer many traditional souvenirs connected to local craftsmanship, food, and Mediterranean culture. Visitors looking for an authentic memory of their stay can find several typical products in Bari Vecchia, the Murat district, and local markets.
Popular souvenirs include handmade ceramics, often decorated with traditional Apulian colors and patterns; wooden handicrafts and small artisanal objects inspired by local traditions; and high-quality extra virgin olive oil, one of the symbols of Puglia.
Food and wine are also among the most appreciated gifts. Visitors may choose local Apulian wines, taralli, preserves, almond sweets, or handmade pasta. One of the most typical products is orecchiette, the traditional handmade pasta that can be found in Bari Vecchia, especially in the streets where local women still prepare it by hand.
These souvenirs are easy to carry and represent the most authentic side of Bari: craftsmanship, food culture, and everyday local traditions.
